Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

I think it's time to move on

I like my coworkers and my work, but I live in constant suspense. Every quarter I’m wondering if I’ll be next. The job market isn’t helping, so I feel like I should start looking now before this company pulls the rug out from under me. It’s stressful living like this.

I got laid off in 2011 maybe the 1st big one. I was the lucky one. I was extremely happy to get out of MN winters and immediately moved to CA. I got into NVDA. It worked out well. Medical device has been over for 20 years.

This board appointment system is a circlej--kShow me where they add value. What is their ROI? It is just one more example of the rent seeking C-suite pariah destroying the system.

Just look at Ken Washington. Two board gig announcements one week after retirement. That’s an easy $800k/year to listen and concur. Let’s retire further, together.

@af if you think Medtronic is bad, just wait until you work in defense…they don’t even pretend to care about their employees.
