i dont even know why this is up for discussion. first to go should be work from home people. they don't care about att. they only care about themselves.

In NJ in 2019 real estate in Bedminster were getting reports by VPN login to identify unused cubicles. I know one employee who wanted to keep his company office was told "be here or we will release your assigned space."

If you're near a hub office there will be pressure to "collaborate." Easy enough to check VPN accesses and clock ins/outs via the bovine gates. For about 6 months, management in Dallas area have told locals to come in 3 days if they're not full time TW.

By the way, a lot of the work that keeps your store systems running comes from people working at home. It's not all golf and Costco as some around here believe. For many of us it's nights and weekends when the cube dwellers are off the clock and out of the picture.

Whether they actually come after people will depend on the specific worker, their role and contribution, and needs of the moment to meet head-count.

FAKE NEWS! They closed all the office buildings in my area, so what office would you return to exactly? Been working from home for 15 years and that's not going to change. If you were working in a position before 2020 that required you to be in the office and you're still working from home, then yes, I would assume you would have to go back. If the pandemic was the only reason to authorize you to work from home then it would be logical to assume you would go back when the pandemic is over, and it's over. Lots of remote worker jobs on indeed.

The company knows that there are a lot of people that barely do anything working from home and they are trying to cut the dead wait by forcing your a$$ back in the office.

The company was better before event WFH. No doubt. When everyone started WFH, we had to sell off DTV, Warner Media, Xandr...

Here is an opportunity to see who really wants to stay here and who wants to b!tch about it leave. No one is forcing you to work here. The company knows that there are a lot of people that barely do anything working from home and they are trying to cut the dead wait by forcing your a$$ back in the office. Really? This is old topic. Don’t know why it was brought back again. Keep dreaming about forcing people back to office. This is not only T problem. When all other benefits have been taken from us, WFH is the only thing we will not give up.

I’ve been back in the office 3x per week for several months. Work in 15+ floor downtown building and my floor has a max of 10 people on any given day. Several floors have less and some totally vacant. It’s peaceful and no waiting for the elevator. Also have an amazing view of a beautiful downtown. I prefer wfh though. I like my dogs and cat more than I like my coworkers.

I’ve been home full time for 15 years and I’m not going back. I stayed home through collab zone threats and I’ll be at home next year. They look the other way.

There will be many targeted surplus groups. A group based off title. A group based on TW indicator. Those with overlaps won’t have a chance. Doesn’t matter if you’re going into the office or now. If you are TW, you are a target.

After the 20-30% reductions are complete by 1/31 I assure you there will be a big push for return to office.

This too shall pass. Once the company realizes there are bigger fish to fry and the gen z kids want no part of an office, then the rules will be relaxed. If you wfh you should be working during the time you would be commuting. That's the extra you put in for the company for the privilege of commuting. Of course, most people barely put in 6 hours, how can mgmt expect to squeeze a full 8 plus commute time....how dare they. 49

My manager called people directly on the team to tell us to start going back to the office, and make sure to use the badge reader to log attendance. The next morning, manager messaged me to about needing to meet as soon as I logon. I am not logging on while commuting to and form the office, whatever emergency just have to wait. If it is going to be kindergarten, don't be surprise if people are putting in their snack and nap time.

Good luck enforcing that. Nobody’s going back to work in some dumpy CO office space, and I don’t blame them.

They said this 6 months ago...nothing's changed, they have bigger problems to focus on. In the building they had us reporting to You should have seen it, it looked like the place had been robbed and nothing was set up for drop-in work.

All of the desk space on the floor have been farmed out to other groups. We were supposed to use conference rooms for drop in space but they were wrecked. I for one won't be going up there to work in that mess...

Is what it is. I’ll go sit in an office when no one from my team is even in the same city. Totally makes sense. I’ll also work less hours due to commutes. If “leadership” wants to save money, how about reducing office space and only requiring people and teams that are co-located to RTO. For everyone else this makes no sense. Save the money and reduce the expense of all these offices.

All work from home people need to stay home and quit. Save a job for those that show up to wokr and care about shareholders investing in T.
