Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I have yet to see anyone in my team get laid off who actually deserved it

It’s always the reliable people with real skills and experience. Meanwhile, the same workload just gets dumped on the rest of us, including a bunch of near-useless folks. Why, ffs? Sometimes I honestly wonder how this place even functions. If office politics, basically code for su-k-ups doing fine, is the main criteria for layoffs, there’s no way this company keeps quality people.

Go up two levels to the executive and that is where the problem is. Especially if they are a recent hire form chase or bofa

I have seen a few people that should have been dismissed got promoted instead! People focus on licking boots instead. You’ll get much further here.

It doesn't matter what your manager thinks of you, not really. Might alter the timeline of your downsizing a little in some cases, but the reaper is coming for you AND your manager eventually anyway. It's all exec driven and no one below the OC can stop it.

@OP Are you saying you are near worthless?

Because management bases its opinion of you on how well you su-k up and not how much work you produce. Many managers are incompetent and have no idea who is doing what on their own teams.

Probably because they tend to be paid slightly better.

Yep. Part of my team is in Des Moines and they are completely useless but never get fired.
