Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Today’s Workforce — Where do you fall?

Bucket 1 — Already, approximately 35% of health insurance and technology worker’s jobs have been transferred from Americans to non-American workers (e.g., H-1B Visa, Offshored).

Bucket 2 — By end of 2026, AI (artificial intelligence) will replace 45% of the Human workforce, eliminating their life sustaining employment.

The big question, where does that leave you, if you do not belong to one of those two buckets?

Yes, this keeps getting repeated over and over but it is very important persons realize what is going on in our very own country and the repercussions it will have on unemployment and our way of life BEFORE it is too late.

To make a difference, consider writing your Congressman and tell them that you are for American (human) employment. And ask them, “are they?!”

@ed well they did try to get Sue to code.

Six months later, she still cannot maintain the code base and unless she can do that, we won’t make her write new code.
At least the H1B people could debug pip when some random third party app threw a fit.

@jh I just read and re-read the OP’s post above and just see them stating facts and numbers and offering a solution to wrote your Congressman.

But I do not see anything about race, nor negativity, or any of the other things that you had accused this poster.

The post seems to just be stating in a friendly manner facts and then offering a peaceful resolution in reaching out to Congressman about those concerning facts.

I do not see anything objectionable about that. I think both political parties believe this is the best and most peaceful way to handle matters. Or at least I sincerely hope that is the case.

If you really have problem , you would escalate. Don’t spew negativity. Like there isn’t enough outside already! If you are being left out, make your voice heard. If the deliverables or quality has deteriorated in IT call it out, I did, i up skilled , took up responsibilities, I moved forward. Stop blaming a gender , race or privilege.

Indians absolutely invade every place they can set foot in. Whenever Indian execs get into place, they preferentially hire more and more Indians. This is a trend that can be seen at Humana for certain- just look at the demographic shift over the past 5-10 years. Also think about how much IT quality has decreased with this shift. As one of the few Americans on my team, I am actively excluded from secret meetings that the Indians have daily. Also, take a look at what's happening in Canada- in its colleges, in its companies. They've allowed Indians to absolutely trample all over their country. We're on a similar trajectory, and it has to be stopped before it gets worse.

America’s Future Under Threat by reckless policy and technology.
Artificial intelligence, foreign competition, and fraying social cohesion endanger America’s workforce and society. AI could automate 50-60 % of jobs by 2030, leaving millions jobless without robust reskilling. Nations with strong governance, like Singapore or Germany, may draw capital from U.S. elites as greed-driven practices face global backlash. Worse, our government, led by figures exhibiting maladaptive psychopathy, steers us toward oblivion. Their self-serving economic policies and political chaos prioritize personal gain over national strategy, leaving no plan for the future.
What’s next? Unchecked, job losses and capital flight could deepen inequality, hollow communities, and spark unrest. Yet America can pivot. Investing in education, green tech, and equitable policies like tax reform or universal basic income could restore resilience. History proves we can adapt—if we overcome polarization and reckless leadership. As elites eye the exits, grassroots innovation must chart the path forward.
