I’m hearing conflicting info about what the severance package will be for the upcoming layoff population. Will it be the same as those who decided to leave?? Feels wrong to give ppl who decided to leave the same as ppl who actually still want their jobs. And specifically the insurance/COBRA. Will it be subsidized thru to the end of the severance term?

@en exactly. When on severance, the COBRA comes out exactly like it did before you left. You get your same check. When your severance ends, you are offered extended COBRA but the price increases a little and you have to pay to continue.
Again, been here. Done that.
@by what do you mean the subsidy is pay monthly from your severance? So basically nothing changes while your getting severance and then once that ends you can extend COBRA but you pay for it fully?
bf laid off in september - insurance was 28 days like last poster stated
he got warn money of 90 days more than what two weeks per year would be
paid like his normal paycheck
got cobra info - it's astronomical so went the ACA exchange
i have heard this won't change for the current october layoffs - to expect the same
Insurance is only for 28 days after your company separation date. Then you can decide if you want to do subsidized cobra. This is from the buy out severance letter. No reason to think it would be any different.
There's unfortunately a lot wrong with this situation in its entirety. Also unfortunate is the fact that COBRA is unaffordable for most of us
The one millionth post about the severance PKG because the people that post here don't stick to the script, constant disruption by inside gossip posts that no body can decifer
You get to go on COBRA, which is the exact same as your normal insurance plan. The company pays the COBRA monthly via your severance check every month. When your severance runs out, they offer extended COBRA (I think a year), but it is more and you pay out of pocket.
Been there, done that.
Health insurance coverage might be covered up to 3 months. If you have a contract, that’s case by case. After that time, you have the option to pay into Cobra if you choose that plan.
@a9 I answered your question.
@a6 And who made you Queen of Insurance?
@a4 No.
Doesn't insurance end on your last day.
