Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

I’m surviving all this only because I already treat my job as gone

I invest very little in what’s happening here and focus my energy on looking ahead. I’ve been building contingency plans and even started a small business initiative in case I can’t land another job. I can’t spend all my time being anxious about prospects here - it just whips you into a frenzy and paralyzes you. Better to save your energy for what truly matters and serves your interests. Everything else is a waste of time.

@er

He never said he was doing it on Oracle time. He could be doing it on nights or weekends.

Oracle only pays for 40 hours of a week, that leaves 128 other hours for people to do as they like, regardless of how much they might think they "own" employees.

Dropping intended total comp by 40% this year. Time to quiet quit.

OP's a real "delight". Hates his job, he's working on outside ventures during work hours, all while collecting a paycheck for doing next to nothing for Oracle.

Hey OP - Bet you're one of those white American 60+-old guys who takes credit for others' work.

Show up, collect a paycheck. Don't count on your RSUs.
