Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Let's hear it for #NLO "Never Left the Office" just to give #RTO some balance.

I never left the office. I don't have that luxury or privilege.

Glass half full. It could be worse. You could’ve never got to work from home. In which case you wouldn’t be complaining now because you never experienced WFH.

I dooes also make full, half of the glass. In my country we says Water can be dirty but hand and mouth can be more dirty. I also dooes not experience work from the home. In my country we are opposite. We Home from the work. HFW

OP, maybe RTO really isn’t about you is it? Please tell us all:

  • Are you 45+ and Caucasian?
  • Did your job get arbitrarily reassigned across the country?
  • After you moved, did T keep your old office open after all?
  • At your new location, is everyone mandated 5 days RTO or just the targeted demo?

Like I said OP d-mbo, maybe RTO isn’t about you,

OP -- Can your job be done from your home? Were you hired as a hybrid employee when you started?

Then I’m sure your job must require you to do some hands on task. That’s not the case for just about everyone else not in a hands on role. Our jobs are sitting behind a keyboard, a screen, and a phone, we can do the job anywhere and often times have to. My team is 24/7/365, so not only do I have to 5x8, I also often have to work nights and weekends in addition to that. Being in the office actually hinders what we do and just makes it more difficult. We were FTW since at least 2013 for that reason.

Good for you. You probably also never work 24 hour shifts and still have to report to that same office and you probably also don’t have to be unpredictable with your hours. They have to be scheduled in advance and charged to a ticket. And you probably also don’t have to take the heat for anything other than only your tasks instead of an entire teams worth of tasks . And you probably don’t answer to international customers or even intra-continental customers. You just stay within your 25 mile footprint.
