Thread regarding Ford layoffs

7 new model launches in 29/30.

Will this be executed flawlessly? Everything is being market tested. Not nearly enough capable engineers, our best are leaving or retiring soon. What is our strategy? Break the previous recall record? Who will be held accountable?

I retired nearly three years ago. So I have seen this decline since the mid 90s. For those who were here back then may recall CAE was a tool. it was directional backed by actual vehicle or bench testing. But since that time the company was rid of all the checks & balances we had in place. Now when there is a problem it's not what is the fix but how much is this going to cost!
We use to have management who knew the product or how to be engineers. Now you have people who care more about their next assignment than what is best for the customer or product.
On top of that you have a BOD and Senior management who continually blame their subordinates for their bad decisions. Explain how some mo--ns on this page continue to call Farley a Visionary. I have one comment to those misguided souls. LAYOFF THE CRACK. I have seen more than one comment asking a simple question. What has Jim Farley done since he hired into Ford? Because I can not find a thing. As for Doug Fields here is another one that has RED FLAGS. Look at his resume. He does not last very long wherever he goes. Last week some brown noser posted how Doug saved all this money on FMV4. So to be clear he hired in the fall of 21.. A so called GURU slash YODA of software... Yet it took him nearly 4 years to figure out FMV4 was not viable. Now this BOZO is in charge of PD. WOW that really gives me a vote of confidence.
I feel sorry for those people that are left. But I am so grateful to be out of that place.
I only wish the WALL STREET FOLKS AND PRESS would start to question I mean really question the BOD and Senior management because the problem is not in the lower ranks but to the CIRCUS running the company.

Losing the "Recall King" title will not happen overnight. Internal processes, corner cutting and half baked designs will continue. FEDE is outdated and a broken system. Overall Ford's internal systems need an en--a. I always here" We have been doing it this way for years" yeah that explains it.

Besides Michigan, the other states are driving Japanese, Korean vehicles.

Best of luck to Ford in launching new vehicle that is already 5 years behind the competitors.

There will be more recalls and warranty repair than ever.

If you don’t live in SE MI, you will see that the majority of people have long ago given up on US car companies. So what does it matter what Ford comes out with?

1) Will this be executed flawlessly? Absolutely not, because everything is being market tested, not nearly enough capable engineers, and our best are leaving or retiring soon.
2) What is our strategy, break the previous recall record? Absolutely yes! It’s the only thing we can be #1 at.
3) Who will be held accountable? Absolutely nobody!
