L4 engineer here, just curious why my chapter lead has a VP of architecture as their boss. Whereas other software architects have other bosses. Not sure why.

Let's face it, middle management is an 'overpaid secretary that does nothing' job. Talk a bunch maybe. Nearly worthless yet overpaid.
Both are useless roles .
