We in fiber are carrying the company. Some of you are lucky you have jobs because of us.
AT&Ts engineering records are so jacked up. A few years ago I wanted to switch from DSL and get fiber. I went to the web site to check the address and it showed I was not eligible. I called the sales desk and was told I was not eligible. At first I believed it and waited several months. After some time, and seeing other folks in the neighborhood being hooked up with fiber, I checked again . . . same response. After the fourth time checking, and a job change in which I supported Call Centers, I got the same response. During a call with the VP of the group I supported he said he would look into it. Sure enough, the engineering records were wrong. I got fiber within a month. Then one night when I was out with friends, they told me they could not get fiber at their home but everyone on the street had it. I escalated to the VP again, and sure enough, the records were wrong. I wonder how much revenue ATT lost because they have bad records and are turning eligible customers away.
I am Jack's complete lack of understanding what your title means?
I remember the back in the 90s when you called the repair number you got someone local who knew the local roads and neighborhoods.
A few years back I witnessed a contractor digging at an intersection, walked the two blocks home to find my fiber internet was out. I called repair to report the fiber cut but they said no outage has been declared and refused to take a report unless I went thru the script of rebooting my router, then computer, etc. I hung up. Four hours later when people started getting home from work an outage was declared.
Wow the article referenced in the posted article is piece of work as well.
AT&T has answered Privette’s lawsuit in court. They denied any code violations and negligence allegations, saying Privette should have known the box was there and been more careful around it.
You Jack what?
