Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Can we volunteer our name on the RIF list?

At this point…can we volunteer to be let go? And if so, do volunteers get the payout? It’s seems like a better deal than staying behind to drown in work and await other rounds of RIFs… So, how do we get our name on the list?

Only tell your boss verbally, not in an email, that you are interested in volunteering. I know two people where this worked out. In one case, it took about 10 months, but they got 40 weeks severance and were planning on retiring anyway.

Don't do this unless you already have an official offer. The job market is brutal out there. My LinkedIn is full of people who are searching for jobs for months and months after being high performers at their previous companies. As big as FIS is, it has very little name recognition, even among Fintechs. Get an offer and then try to do this.

Yes, just let your manager know. If there is a RIF in your area, they would be glad to have you over having to make the choice themselves.

Yeah. I know of someone who offered themselves quietly to their bosses as a guilt free RIF.

Yah I think bosses like to know this unofficially because if they have to rif someone it makes the choice easy.
