Thread regarding USAA layoffs

They are going through our accounts

People are being fired left and right for filing insurance claims from years ago or filing fraud dispute. I just got fired this morning for fraud due to excessive dispute claims (I had 3 in the last 8 years).

Subsequently they went through my login times, when I was in the office, if I was ever low on funds, if I ever had high amount of funds.

All because of a d-mb TikTok shop purchase. They are coming for us.

@ah could you spell it out for the rest of us? What are they admitting to?

I’m not even joking. I just opened up a chase account and changed my direct deposit then changed my insurance. Im not risking anything anymore. It’s clear they are seeking for any reason to get rid of people. This is no surprise.

Omg what? This is not good. What was your role? Is it happening across all positions?

I was fired last week for “fraud” now I cannot be hired at any financial institution. It was triggered because I filed a dispute on a charge on my checking account. They said because I didn’t provide evidence it was suspicious. They never asked for evidence. There was no pop-up or anyplace to provide evidence. But also, how am I supposed to prove a negative? How does someone prove they didn’t make a purchase? Other than then obvious that it was in another state and it was somewhere I’ve never purchased before. It was literally for under $50. But they said that I was abusing the dispute process and fired me for fraud. 12 years of experience- wasted.

I know someone else that was recently fired for the same.

If I banked with chase, I’d still be employed. To dispute a charge from a fraudulent seller shouldn’t impact my employment. Having $80.00 in my account shouldn’t impact my employment. Me and my husband both getting our bonuses and having $90K in the account shouldn’t impact my employment.

Maybe you don’t realize what you’re admitting to.

Okay. This is why you don’t sh-t where you eat. It’s common practice for banks to reject employee disputes because it looks suspicious. Dispute with the merchant not your employer. Don’t confuse a valid charge with fraud. It’s also common for banks to terminate for mismanaging funds.sounds like USAA is finally trying to act like a real bank.

Anything to get out of paying for severance. Jesus. Let us just work or lay us off.

I am so sorry about this. I know of two people last week and someone today that was fired for similar reasons. Hire an attorney!
