Repost: Mental health resources for Oracle employees on this board

Repost of @OP+1hblRka5

Note that some of this focuses on changing self defeating behaviors like so many posts on this board seem to indicate.

Good resources for Oracle employees
This was buried in the doormat thread and includes some info that may be helpful to employees who feel stuck in their jobs at Oracle.

Lots of denial and rationalization going on in this thread. Don't forget Oracle provides EAP, I think the first 6 visits are free to the employee.

Here are some resources for anyone who is interested in regaining their power and control over their lives (and careers). A simple search will provide many more. Pay special attention to being trapped in patterns, self-esteem, bad relationships, excuse making, anxiety, self-doubt and denial. These are all self-defeating behaviors that prevent many people from leaving the starting gate on the way to improving their lives.

It's almost as if in some sick way Oracle employees enjoy getting cr*pped on.

Some my think its funny. It actually took me months to detox from Oracle. I did not seek help but I did walk a lot and meditate on the positives. Oracle is a toxic place. It took me a bit to trust that every second I was not protecting myself from being RIFed. That I can actually produce and it would be appreciated. People that don't even think they are being mentally messed up will find once their time ends it will take a moment. I ran into a former sales rep that stated he was done. Doing something totally different. Another told me Oracle culture did not agree with her. I am good now - very good. I would never recommend the place to anyone. Not sour grapes because me leaving there added a few years back to my life. Money isn't everything and it isn't like they give any increases to 90% or more of the people. People with options left.

Let’s talk about the mental health of an ex Oracle employee that has delusions of a Messiah, returning in glory , righting the wrongs of his past, by insulting and patronizing others who are simply trying to make a living for themselves and their families. No one here is perfect, but we are not fools, nor are we unbalanced, but we don’t spend our times using others to fight our battles with Oracle!
