Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Good resources for Oracle employees

This was buried in the doormat thread and includes some info that may be helpful to employees who feel stuck in their jobs at Oracle.

Lots of denial and rationalization going on in this thread. Don't forget Oracle provides EAP, I think the first 6 visits are free to the employee.

Here are some resources for anyone who is interested in regaining their power and control over their lives (and careers). A simple search will provide many more. Pay special attention to being trapped in patterns, self-esteem, bad relationships, excuse making, anxiety, self-doubt and denial. These are all self-defeating behaviors that prevent many people from leaving the starting gate on the way to improving their lives.

They paranoia is simply a heightened state of awareness. Nothing wrong with it if not affecting anyone else.

I wouldn’t take part in any mental health care that I didn’t hire and pay myself. EAP just another way to weed out “the weak”, or those perceived as that.

This is an incorrect (if not outright silly) statement. EAP provides you with a big list of mental health professionals and you can pick the one you want. These are not "Oracle specific" insiders or, as you seem to imply "spies". I've used professionals who I knew from experience prior to Oracle. They are bound by law to maintaining client confidentiality.
