Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

RIP FOP!

Speaking of d-mb acronyms: What does “fields of play” mean anyway?

Tennis and basketball are played on a court. Running happens on a trail or track. Even in soccer (football) the playing area is more commonly referred to as a ‘pitch.’

This is the kind of inane rebranding that resulted in losing our focus and did zero to stem the loss of market share.

I applaud the move back to aligning with Sport. We should NEVER have left the category offense.

Once this is over hopefully this will allow us to all row in the same direction. And hope that it’s not too late.

@a7 I think you missed my point. I never said the FOP alignment caused us to lose market share. I said it did next to nothing to ADDRESS the loss of market share, which, if I’m not mistaken, is precisely why it was conceived as an offensive tactic.

@a7 because it’s not clear and actually speaks quite well to our internal chaos and pointless politicking

Fields is a broad categorization by sport, as in area or grouping. It doesn't refer to where a particular sport is played.
Yes it's a little riff on playing fields etc. But seriously your reaction seems to be a bit over the top. How're you drawing a line from the branding to losing marketshare. That's superfluous.
