Surprise Surprise Surprise today. Early morning call from manager & September 22,2025 made as my last day. YAP! came out of blue. But, no regret. Started as a rookie. Oracle got me on H1, processed my Green Card. Seen all in 30 years of service how this Company behaves & works! & where the dead bodies buried. Oh! if you are wondering what gigs I did. Started as onsite ACS Engineer when the org was just starting, moved to DB Sustaining, back to Exadata DEV / BDE / support. Last 8 years in Oracle Sustaining & DEV. Best part of the journey at Oracle - I worked from home. Time to polish my resume & take this 100 years+ experience to another great company soon!

30+ years here too and I am grateful for the opportunities. WAH for most of my Oracle career allowed me to balance work/home life well.
I have to say though, lately the job was he-l. It was like exec level just quit caring about employees and customers. The stress was starting to affect me and I seriously think the layoff came at a good time for me personally.
Social security and a part-time low stress job is the future for me. That and spending time with my loved ones.
Maybe take it to the geek squad?
25 years at Oracle. Only job I new. I stuck for work life balance and good managers. In the last couple of years both these things I stayed around were gone for me, so in all honesty this is a good thing for me.
Me too 30 years! Blindsided!
I am back with a follow up question ........After bad news I didn't get enough time to move my personal folders out of the computer. Off-course now I can't login back. Any pointers on to how do I get my personal files offloaded ?
Tip of the hat to you all making 30 years. You deserve a better send off.
Best of luck to you! I received the same notice today. Fusion ERP support.
It was a good ride. Over 30 years here as well. I worked with the best people.. smart, dedicated, and able to adopt quicky to the rapid changes. I had good managers who supported work/life balance. I wish them all well.
Now to figure out what I want to be when I grow up 🙂
In my time and experience there - especially during the Dot.com days - everyone knew that Oracle made a great girlfriend/boyfriend but a horrible wife/husband so we left on our own when it was 'time' and we were through with each other.
Congrats.
