has anyone ever had to extend their hours of operation as you were working a standard 7/8hr shift? got a phone call mid day and literally had to accept the fact I am stuck inside my store for the next 5 hours rather than the initial 2. Doesn't make any sense especially since there aren't too many students and it's always dead past a certain point, literally just rotting away. I do feel very disrespected considering how out of the blue it was and am mentally clocking out of this company as the days pass lol

Why? It's a dead end job, not a career.
Think McDonald's or White Castle.
Do as little as possible and leave.
It will NEVER get better.
Looks like JRC has a JoAnn fabric trick up its sleeve. Sc--w everybody to show a big profit for their rich investors and move on.
Out of curiosity:
Why are so few of you commenting on this? You haven't experienced this? Been asked to do more with less and less, your personal lives and families and pets be damned?
This treatment isn't okay. Rise up.
@OP ~ my question is, without support staff, how the heck are you supposed to stay open longer? I guess I would go to the campus liaison regarding what is really going on here. Once they know (and care) they will start to question follett tactics and the lack of support staff for the managers.
But then again... maybe I am being more optimistic than I should be... -_-
