Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Control Org

Heard from a Control Exec recently that the whole control org is overstaffed and there will be a 30% reduction in the next 2 years. Anyone have additional insight into this?

@3sh

There are too many “leaders” contributing nothing and not enough actual workers in control.

Control is an illusion.

Seconded, it is apparent control is completely devoid of functional leadership. Clean the house.

Who is hoarding all the headcount in control? My group is overworked and needs to hire. These leaders are abysmal

Chuckles and the board make it up day by day....they haven't a clue.......they are desperate to find something that works.

@2gdr+1jxdSkAH - JB is totally clueless. It is growing in size for no apparent reason . Why is tech control going up in size ?

An underlying secret within the control groups. Only controls directly affected by consent order or MRA are being worked on. There are so many outdated and ineffective controls, controls with people's names that left WF, the control processes are bloated and become more bloated with each iteratation. Controls under JB are a failure.

Definitely agree that Control is overstaffed.

Understaffed for now with what we need the get done. Totally agree on major cuts after RCSA round 1. Asset cap lifted, the 50 percent cuts and Phase 2 can take years.

Fake news in the Control Org I am in. We are actually understaffed.

Our teams (3 teams of 8 people) are overloaded with work, yet 2 of the 3 control people do very little. Everyone else is new.
One does no work for the group she supports and tells us that she can't be fired because of her disability. Yet they are still here making $200k. It is also poor management, all the way up to JB.

Attrition will take care of most of that. As they backfill with control team members in India.

Don’t even need asset cap lifted to start axing Control, just need to be most of the way done with first iteration of this RCSA. Also now that Nate has pulled them all under his umbrella for real they can make other functions more centralized. Control in 2025 should be half the size it is now.

Actual risk functions in IRM, the asset cap probably has to be lifted before meaningful cuts will be made I would guess.

I doubt any time really soon. Everything is still a mess. I’m in control.

Is there an indication the asset cap is getting lifted?

After the asset cap is lifted I’m sure of it.

Just wait until or if we get out of the asset cap. Half of risk, control and compliance will be gone

30% reduction was Chuckie's original goal across the board, wasn't it?
