Future of CIB Business

Been working in CIB for almost 4 years now and love the work life balance and my team which is rare to find at big banks. I am at a mid career level with approx 20 years.

CIB senior management says they want to grow this business but nothing really seems to change. In addition, with the asset cap limitation and the fed raising rates running the CIB business which is small compared to the bigger players is going to be challenging. On top of that a lot of the folks who are in CIB have not really seen or understand what it takes to run a true investment banking/sales and trading unit. The level of risk taking is almost deminimus compared to the lending/retail side of the bank.

With that said, would you leave to firms like GS, JPM etc as a lateral knowing that you will have to work in a more demanding environment with the possibility of learning more/career growth or would you stick it out for a year or two given the economy while upskilling through masters/certifications and seeing if management here can make growth happen?

The problem is that the daily work is not challenging, my team is good but most of the senior managers have side gigs or or on the path to retirement and the overall morale at the bank keeps getting worse which directly impacts the morale for almost every employee

Any tips suggestion on how to navigate this would be appreciated.
