Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Did your r&r get paid out when you left?

I recently left Fiserv and got my final paycheck and noticed that none of my r&r time was paid out..did this happen to anyone else?

Your earned R&R bucket doesn't necessarily go to 0 on Jan 1 '23. If your state has laws surrounding earned R&R, then that bucket will carry over and Workday will make you use up that bucket first. Once it hits 0, THEN you are true unlimited. If your state has no law surrounding earned R&R, then it will disappear. Note that the well-being bucket DOES disappear.

Mine was paid out but was incorrect. I had planned R&R that was cancelled when I was Rif'd but workday showed it as taken. I called on it, had to explain to multiple people, finally got it in a separate check. The well being (32 hours) was not paid but was given 80 additional hours R&R due to late notification of RIF.

This depends on the state you live in.

My R&R was paid out in a separate check from my final pay.

This is why a lot more people are being moved to unlimited in 2023, just in time for the Q1 layoffs.

In Florida, at least, because Fiserv pays severance in a lump sum, it does not affect unemployment. Max unemployment in Florida is $275 a week for 12 weeks.

Unemployment is between you and your state. You need to check your local government to determine if you can get unemployment.

Do you get unemployment while you look for another job? Or if you get severance that is alll you get?

I live in PA and my "unused, accrued R&R" was paid out. No idea what the laws are here.

It depends on where you live and if you get unlimited vacation. Is you get unlimited, you will not get paid out period.

To his dislike, Frank has to pay out unused R&R for Nebraska and a handful of other states. Just search online to see if your state has a law in place to require employers to pay out earned vacation time. HR applies vague wording in the policy documents to try to mislead people into believing their earned time-off will not be paid.

Fiserv does not pay out well being time. So, when you take time off, you should always draw from the hours in that bucket first. Ditto for any well being carryover you have from a prior year. They DO pay out R &R time only if they lay you off. If you have 'unlimited PTO', you are not paid for any of it, so take it before you leave. Read up on this on FUEL.

I got paid out as part of my layoff when I refused to move to NJ. I seem to recall it wasn't in my last check, but in my severance and continuation bonus (for staying on to train my replacement) check that came the pay cycle following me sending back my computer.

Did you leave on your own or was it a RIF? If it was a RIF you should receive payout for unused R&R. If you leave on your own or terminated for cause you do not receive a payout for the unused R&R (unless you live in a state that requires it).

unless you are in a state that requires payout you will not see a payout of unused R&R.
