I suspect this could be grounds for a class action lawsuit if it can be shown that RTO was used to determine layoffs and reduced bonuses but was not enforced uniformly across the board.

Tech is probably the most liberal for RTO if you are on an Agile registry. Don’t expect that to last if widespread layoffs happen in the general marketplace. They are only being so generous because there is still competition with WFH companies. Once WFH companies start laying off and WFH goes back to being a perk, they will increase the in office days.

WF is too invested in physical space to let WFH run the show all that that much longer.

They only have the ‘power’ you relinquish to them. You have a choice at the end of the day.

No one at my location has a business need to know what I'm doing or saying, so yes, going to a building full of such people is beyond pointless. I love my job, but I despise this exec team and RTO with every fiber of my being and can't wait for them to be fired.

7+ fah keen months of RTO'ing. 80+ pointless drives to a depressing office environment that has almost zero personality whatsoever.
Empty, dull cubes filled with zombies sitting on their cell phones with headsets on.
It's like we all report in and go to our stalls like good little sheep. It's such a waste in every way. I have a couple co-workers at my site but I feel they must be ninjas as we NEVER see each other. I think it's all mutual that we don't care to interact face to face.
1 peer of mine said he/she goes in maybe 1 time a week max....sometimes not at all.
Hasn't heard any backlash. Pizzes me off. If its required, enforce it. If it isn't, then don't say it is. I follow it but I don't fawkeen want to.

We were told they aren’t tracking at an individual level and that our area is meeting the 3 day requirement so no issues. They have said nothing about what a day is defined as. At least 6 hours? Anyone know?

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. FRTO.

The CEO of Commercial Banking stated in a division-wide meeting this week that RTO will be 3 days a week at the minimum.

Tech is exempted if they work in an agile environment. In that case those folks will be required to be at the office only for major agile events.

Another reason RTO is a failure is that it is NOT being enforced uniformly. And people who were hired, especially before the pandemic, as WFH and had contracts, are having their contracts invalidated, just because. None of the leadership team is protecting their PEOPLE, we are all expendable now.

hours in the office has never been an issue in our teams as we are also expected to work off hours for releases and with offshore on projects outside of the normal us working hours

Had a 1 on 1 with my manager and they had numbers all the way back to April. It is tracked on a rolling basis. They were told by their manager that poor results could impact bonuses, and we had several people in my group not doing 3 days a week, 6 hours a day in office. I don't know if that's a corporate-wide policy, but in my area, it could matter.

F everyone behind it, and everyone enforcing it. Epic fail of a decision. When the other big banks started doing it, we had the PERFECT opportunity to steal a bunch of talent by offering WFH. But no, we decided to behave like the herd and will reap no rewards for it.

It's more of a problem for those that haven't gone into the office at all. If you only go in 1-2 days, nothing.

It's really not all that hard to grasp. Some RTO some don't. If you worked in the office before the whole pandemic nonsense you would be expected to RTO. If you didn't then you probably wouldn't. That's how it's been in tech from what I've noted.

It’s up to your direct manager or up to his/her manager in some cases.

The male ‘leaders’ who don’t push back are low T. No doubt.

The women who don’t push back just enforce the meaningless policy and lack leadership.
