Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

An Abruptness To It

So I wonder how many this caught of guard. For myself it was conference calls earlier in the day business as usual… my director was on one of those calls. Then later in the day it’s ‘bo-m’ my director is telling me “you are being let go. You will be cut off in 15 minutes.” There was no knowledge transfer. No transition. No chance to say goodbye to people you spent years working side by side with. How can that be healthy for anyone? The company? The employees? The clients? The person being let go? The manager that has to let the person go?

Has there been more carnage this week I wonder?

The 2023 annual benefits email sent to employees TODAY listed 44,000 associates - what a crock! As if we aren’t able to look on Workday and see the real number. Why lie???

The HR team under Tony Marino has become a RIF machine. That’s mostly what they do. Poor fools have lost their souls.

Frankly I saw it coming right after the merger so I hereby confess that I coasted for almost two years and all in all it was free money - not that I didn't want to work but there was mostly nothing to do. It was sad to lose the gig, but even more sad to see a once great company go down the drain.

Unfortunately this has become the rule for what was a great company years ago. I’m sure that today many of those who were with the company 10+ years ago could echo your comments. ☹️
