Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I would be quite happy watching the "great American city" die as a concept and people move to smaller communities. Cities bring out the worst in people and historically have been the birthplace of the worst social philosophies and governing malfeasances.

Besides building occupancy, another reason is without a bunch of customers, small businesses around downtown can't survive and consequently they can't service the notes held by Wells Fargo. All this needs to change, because employees aren't going back, regardless of any combination of sticks and carrots.

I see a paradigm shift coming, very similar to when we shed the suits and went to casual clothing in late '90s.

Finally, this issue is across all employers, not just Wells Fargo.

Why else do you think they are selling the Park Avenue office and moving those that were assigned there to Hudson Yards?

But the tax break isn't permanent. There's always an end date to these sweetheart property tax deals.

It's seems hard to believe that all hubs are currently under such a deal.

Forced RTO should only apply to hubs with a current agreement (until the agreement expires). It's not unfair, it's just what it is.

Just like “fosters communication” was a BS reason for cramming people into open offices.

It was about saving money on office space and they could not have cared less that it made it ten times harder to do our jobs. Not their problem.

They had private offices of course.
