Layoffs were in the hundreds and across all lines of biz. Mortgage hit pretty hard of course- first layoffs in the govt lending area. Used to be WF would state the amount of layoffs, make some mention of how appreciative they were for those folks and let people say goodbye to their teammates. Now its all hush hush and you'll risk losing your severance if you say goodbye. Absolutely heartless company. They should change the name to Norwest Bank because WF died years ago.
Townhall at the exact same time as layoffs. No transparency about layoffs. Layoffs just keep coming under the radar. Just gross!
WFHM is a dying brand. Best to get out if you can. Horrible leadership has run it into the ground and Schart wants it gone anyways.
We had around 260 processors and probably 240 underwriters get the axe. Every time a Thursday rolls around we all get nervous. They let some seasoned underwriters go too, some that had been with the company over 30 years. There are a few that got let go that probably deserved it because they sucked.
You have to love the transparency at Wells Fargo when they can't even own the layoffs.
I'm in the mortgage group and have not heard a word. Has anyone been impacted or heard of anyone. I did see a prior post about Thursdays hosting chopping parties.
Really? I wouldn’t wish anyone being let go and out of a job
If there is some magic list of employers hiring you know - please post so others impacted can monitor
Saw this on TV at noon yesterday on CNBC. I was hoping the layoffs were more widespread, and that they would impact my group. But alas, here I am...
So is this a new round for this Thursday?
Makes sense. Mortgages are in decline (as they should be - house prices were truly insane).
