Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Came into an empty office again

I hear rumors about compliance etc but every time I come in I’m pretty much the only one here vs pre-covid our floor was completely full and people couldn’t even find a flex cube.

I just come in once a week and leave around noon just like all the others I see and never had any issues. No point in being in the office since I’m the only one in my city. As far as I know it’s not being enforced on my team right now. Doubt many teams are enforcing this in my area as I never see more then a handful of people on my floor. My entire building is pretty much empty and I’m at a major hub.

The transparency around this is non-existent. A bunch of us in the floor started coming in 3 days a week and then realized no one was coming in, so tapered down to 1 or stopped coming in at all…I will come in if it’s required of me but so far I haven’t heard a peep.

My group has recently started enforcing this and your manager will speak to you if you have an average of less than 3 days/week in the office (PTO and vacation counts for days in office). If you don't comply, you will receive documented coaching. Not sure what comes next, but I assume an informal warning.

My team is the only one coming in three days/week, apparently. A floor that seats 200 has ten employees on a “busy” day. My team is half of that ten.

What are other people on your team doing? If everyone else comes in 3 days a week, then you might get noticed, but even so would probably get some sort of notice before they tell you they accept your voluntary resignation.

RTO can bite it, as can anyone that advocates for it.

Our office is not much different from yours. Your solutions may turn out to be ours too.

Is it safe to say that my manager is a loser for choosing to enforce RTO on her team?

My manager loves the office. That’s why our group is like a game of musical chairs. WTF would anyone stay when over 50% of the firm is not following the senseless 3 days per week nonsense?

Honestly, at this point, if you don’t have a micromanager for a boss, I’d say WFH until someone releases an official statement from the top of the pyramid scheme that gives concrete expectations and concrete consequences. That’s always been the issue. There’s no follow through, or it’s inconsistent. One set of rules for everyone eliminates the need for litigation later. It’s that simple.🤷🏻
