Some persistently try to convince others that these cuts were performance based. On the other hand, I know several people who were laid off but whose performance was much better than those who are still here.

The fact you report to a "Lead" and you mention being rated for "Years" speaks volumes of your role, "Application consultant" or below. Senior-level roles report to Associate directors or above.
You are a low-level worker because of NOT brown-nosing and having self-respect; that is not bad.
Contractors who get sh-t and peed on their faces, use managers' sh-t as a face pack, and drink managers' ur--e gets hired as architects.
So don't defend that brown-nosing doesn't work.
I don’t brown nose. I do my job, I do it well. I do not brown nose, and I prefer to bed off the leads radar. I am only on the radar when I’m asked to participate in pilots. I stay educated on health care, needs and rules. I don’t brown nose. I have been rated exceptional many years.
anyone who survives long-term at Humana does only by brown-nosing.
You do understand that except for ensuring there is no discrimination Humana is not obliged to do any real assessment, and can let you go for no reason, or ANY reason. At least in most of the Right to Work States. There may be some rules in some states but surprise surprise, Humana doesn't have much of a footprint in the states with rules.
If you have proof that you were discriminated against under EEOC law you may have a case, without that you are on your own.
All you can do is make sure you get every cent you're entitled too. Use your Health Care to your full advantage, claim your WOW points, ANYTHING you have been promised, you should have.
Humana is heavily an "old boy" network. I had exceeded expectations on my performance reviews, took on new skills/function each year.
Performance is one thing, but the other piece is how you can fill the role moving forward. Maybe those with lesser performance have a certain skill set or knowledge base that’s needed compared to the others
Yes that’s always the case. That’s why it’s so confusing about how the RIFS were actually done.
