Represented technicians some time in March 2023. 5 years to age and service plus $5k per year of service. That should tie things up in a bow. Adios a los unións. T is finally getting serious about cleaning house.

@4ieu+1jTxCnsR
got a response out of you, my comment was sarcasm....
Just another knuckle head trying to push peoples buttons cuz he/she knows this is all BS and will never happen and also that Cricket is part of AT&T! They're just trying to get a response from people on this site!
once you take that sweet deal, you should switch your service to Cricket, I hear they have a better network
All you believers on here that are hoping and praying for this rumor to become a reality are completely delusional! We're already short several technicians in my area and the thought of T offering a Voluntary package is ludicrous! Sorry, I know it's wishful thinking on your part, but get over your little retirement dream and snap out of it!
Hate to blow ice water up ur cooper chute, Tex but the OP makes a good point. It’s been done before and is a proven, cost effective way to eliminate overhead that is protected by a union contract. You should stick to mucking out ur bosses office and leave the thinking to brighter folks.
Don't even dignify this OP nonsense with a response because he's just blowing sunshine up people's a$$e$ hoping his wish comes true. If every CWA member got $5k for every year up to 35 years of service, that would cost T, 35X5000=$175,000. per employee. Ultimately costing T $35M for only 200 techs. Do you seriously believe T would shell out $35 million to get rid of 200 older technicians? No way this would ever happen, sorry, merely a pipe dream of somebody!
Cite the multiple sources please
Thanks OP, I can fertilize my garden with what you're shoveling here!
why wouldn’t they offer that? they spent 185 b for Warner, money grows on trees
Blanket statement for response?
What Techs? What state? What CWA district?
So many leaving in DEC as it is, lots of holes soon
Dream On!!!!
Wildfire rumor. Hold your breath for this offer. Maybe someone will resuscitate you !
FAKE NEWS, don't believe a word of this nonsense!
where do i sign for this and i'm out.
No offer since I took the 50g plus Sipp in 2020. Management to keep you sweating looks like.
The OP really is delusional
So does this mean that all those lazy lardass losers with 35+ years are finally gonna waddle off the payroll with a big bonus? Doesn't seem fair.
OP making sense. Given the current cash flow situation, a targeted offer to expensive older employees who tend to lack updated skills, would be an extremely cost effective solution. I suspect that all of these nabobs of negativity are simply jealous.
There will not be any offers. Get over it.
Fake news all the way, never gonna happen nor does this make any sense! T is not in a position to do something this dramatic for its employees! FAKE NEWS!!!
VRIP, Part Deux. Coming to CWA represented technicians in March 2023. 5-5-$5k enhanced severance to finally get rid of the dead weight.
I'll take the surplus cuz it's still 104 weeks of severance pay! I'd be delighted to go in lieu of an employee with lesser seniority!
The only offer that’s coming will be in the form of a surplus.
“lazy lardass losers”...true dat, heh-heh-heh!
DREAM ON, PEOPLE! It's nice to have this kind of hope, but you're only setting yourselves up for a huge disappointment! This couldn't be further from the truth, not gonna happen in your life time!

The irony is the 35+ year employees keep forgetting that the young punks aren't building up a million dollar pension. They are working for far less money and should be doing far less work to match their diminished compensation.
"Just remember that all us lazy lardass losers with 35+ years built the company that all you young entitled punks have turned into a laughing stock."
Specifically which company is it that you think you've built? You do know "AT&T" is like 200 companies all mashed together over years and years, right? Maybe you built something, but now you're wasting your time on thelayoff.com and calling people "punks." Spoiler alert, if you're calling people punks, you're beyond having any idea what is going on or even what world you're living in. I highly doubt you provide anything of value to whatever part of AT&T you work in. I'm 20+ years in, and regardless of whether you're a "punk" with 5 years, 20 years, or 35+ years, many people work hard.
OP really has a sophmoric mentality and it would be a pleasure to see him exit the company.
Zero chance.....

Is It True That SBC Stands For…SOD_MIZ_D By Cowboys?
It does make sense if AT&T can manage to eliminate costly, non-productive employees from the payroll for a relative pittance.
There will be no offers. OP just keeps posting this same nonsense every few days.
Darn! Should have waited until next year to retire to offset the 200k loss in my lump sum. LOL
I know 3 people saying the same thing - me, myself and I.
lardass? You’ve been peeking
Not accurate, funny, clever, or witty to keep trotting this out there.
Either a typo or bs on 5k per years of service. If legit typo, add 5 years to age & years of service. Many would now qualify for modified rule of 75. (another way to take advantage of employees)
I don’t believe it, the days of enhanced incentives to leave are over.
