What is everyone seeing when it comes to bonuses? Our pool is down about 10%.

in some parts of the company that are doing badly, bonus pools are down worse. 18-20% lower than last year.

A lot of us worked many years and had to start over here because Corporate America doesn’t like to pay people of a certain age anymore.
Outside the exec circles most of us bonus eligible types worked for many years to get to our current gig.
in this environment, I would be thrilled to get what I got last year. But who knows!
director here. yes, my bonus pool is flat to last year in total dollars, but I have more people/new hires that have to be paid from that pool, so on a per-person basis it is down.
But no explanation either.
When they did away with targets and went to TVC it was positioned as a way that people could see growth in bonus year to year that would be performance based - I.e. allegedly better than having a "target". The reality now shown, is that it's just another way to obfuscate paying bonus-eligible people less year after year.
Most of the company doesn’t get a bonus so this doesn’t apply to most of us.
Be glad you get anything.
Thousands less in your bonus but a raise that should cover a six pack a week.
I’m director level HR so I have proper insight.
How do you know the bonus pool? Isn't it only visible at CEO -4 level at present?
Merit up 0.5% and Bonus down 10%...sounds about right for Wells.
Always a little less right? “Tough year”
Oh snap....@odu+1jPacdOX, you just got roasted by @kyd+1jPacdOX.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha
I wrote the no bonus target comment. If you notice, the title of this thread is a question about "Bonus Targets?"
So now who read too quickly into things?
I heard Bei Ling fought for 15% and won
The person above said there were no bonus targets. I found this interesting because bonus target was not a theme mentioned in the OP. The OP said 10K less bonus pool. These oversights happen if someone reads something quickly and assumes what the subject was based on preconceived understanding of things or lack of insight into compensation processes. Just saying.
As for the OP there are various reasons a pool would decrease 10K not all bad. Bonus usually comes in around 85-90 percent average so are you saying we are down to 85 to 80 percent?
There are no targets
