I'm on the Dave Ramsey plan as well, but I'm not stupid to think it's ok that Verizon is taking advantage of everyone. Also your RSUs do get cashed out to your personal investment account each year, which you do not get the benefits to write off the losses while Verizon can. If you decided to reinvest back into Verizon you're taking an opportunity loss big time, as opposed to investing in a mutual fund that matches the market. My advice is for you to hire a financial advisor since you sound bad with finances.
Having a budget and spending less than you make is nothing to be proud of, when anyone can do that despite their income. It's knowing that a company is taking advantage of all of their employees, making them do a crazy amount of work, talking about mental health all the time, but doesn't pay a matching wage for what we do. Instead of increasing wages during a huge inflation period, they increase work load, and increased prices on their customers. Pad their own financial numbers instead of showing any respect towards the people who work here.
Sounds like you're an adult that enjoys to get taken advantage of though. You do you, OP isn't wrong.
