I don't remember many times T had layoffs on a Friday, but sadly, that doesn't mean much. Is there any way to be certain that there'll be no more cuts, at least for now?

There will ALWAYS be layoffs at T. Always. Usually multiple layoffs per year.
It's finally the last and only thing this company can actually do well, and is the only business strategy they have left.
Layoffs are always going to be around. It’s something you will always have to deal with, no matter where you work. Build value into your self. Keep a fresh resume and always review your options. Don’t depend on a company for your happiness or self worth. Put that into yourself, your family and/or friends , and your abilities.
They are coming. This was the first round. They still have to digest how many will be leaving on their own (and from where) at the end of the year. Once those numbers are finalized the blueprint for the reorg’s will become a lot clearer. The conference bridges for the mid to upper level folks are going to get a workout.
Layoffs are how Att manipulates its numbers for investors... They are con artists!
Yes, we all know more layoffs are coming, but does anybody have a clue to which areas of the business are being reduced? There are many growth areas of the business that have too many technicians many of whom are idle day-in and day-out with minimal work! However, the fact that their business is growing and they are "presumably necessary," they won't be downsized! Go figure!
Confirmed today with leadership that surplus is coming.
Layoffs or no layoffs that is the question.
