Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It's not complicated

Your company's fate will be determined by how you treat your employees. Employees will make a difference if they are treated as if they matter. Alternatively, you lose the respect of everybody when you mistreat one of your own. It's that simple. And somehow WFC manages to always get it wrong.

There used to be a time when WF consistently stated “our team members are our competitive advantage”. And in my opinion WF used to live up to that. But all of that changed about 10-12 years ago and obviously has gotten worse recently. WF does not value their team members one bit. The fact that direct managers have no input into who gets laid off shows that WF doesn’t care if you’re a high performer or not. You’re just another stat affecting a bottom line.

@yha. It is the failed Chase management team that pretty much doomed this company.

Why do you think they aren’t there anymore?

As far back as I can remember, the first big mistake, during my term, was the Wachovia merger. A bunch of vampires came in and bled legacy WF dry.

F RTO.

Start buying out leases and/or selling campuses.

Why limit yourself to candidates in very select cities??

RTO is waste of time, waste of money, unnecessary risk, unnecessary pollution, etc.

So true. Laughable merit increases and arbitrarily forcing RTO while pretending to support green initiatives and employee well-being are resulting in disengagement and cynicism. WF may be counting on the economy getting bad enough that employees have no options, but this generation will not sacrifice quality of life in return for crumbs. WF needs to become a great place to work if they want to be successful.

Stated another way, you reap what you sew. Wells Fargo engineering managers are the worst. No interpersonal skills or training.

All I can say is, the way that I was laid off a couple weeks ago was all I needed to know with certainty that I will not be looking internally for my next position, even with my 8 years of service. Being laid off from wf is a blessing!

they treat us just well enough to not push people over the edge to stay where we are begging for crumbs
