Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

This place is so toxic

I still haven't gotten used to the culture here and I think more and more that I never will. After all, is it even possible to get used to such a toxic workplace and at the same time maintain your integrity? I think not.

Leadership is bad, but what drains my energy even more every day are very bad interpersonal relations in general, where everyone tries to take credit for others' work, where backstabbing is common, etc.

The answer is to become more toxic than anyone else. Or quit.

All you have to do is compare the "Lovewhereyouworked" Twitter posts by the Twitter employees who left or were fired after the Musker took over and compare how Vz employees hate Vz and the toxic, as-kissing environment. Sad

@sxn+1jJNE1EH is this HRs new deflection tactic? They got called out for incognito voting 50 times a post now they accuse people of being bots? Look at this site, it hasn't been enhanced since 2010, nobody is building bots to post here.

Just look at the Valhalla and Garden City posts from a while back. Those offices must be the biggest dump of toxic people!

@1EH
You nailed it. If you don't want to put in ungodly hours, then don't. Be an adult. But there are always those out there who will do anything to please and don't know how to say no. Trust me, this company and others will take all they can get from you if you let them. You have to be the one to set the boundaries and stick to them. It's all on you.

1EH -

I’m willing to put money you are someone in sales and not a supporting role of the business..

It’s okay, keep your blinders on.

I had no idea that Verizon forced employees to work over time?!?!?! Oh wait, they don’t! Grow a pair and tell your boss you can’t work overtime, no one forces you to do anything…if you let it happen that’s 100% on you….stop crying, put down your vape pen, and go f* s* up

My favorite toxic trait is the

Get the project done, no Overtime. Out of hours? Get it done.

I’ve heard and saw horror stories of others being forced to work things off the clock.
Salary? Sure for better or worse, but when guidance is Hourly employees to not charge for time worked and young employees fall for it? Unacceptable.

Up the flagpole? Do better.

When you say “here” where do you mean? Your post is so generic it can be used or applied to any company.
