Although I was very sad to be laid off from my Wells Fargo position in the Home Lending unit after around 8 years of employment there, it has turned out well for me. I truly appreciate that the company has been paying me severance pay and continuing health care benefits for the last 6 months. I got to take some time off while on the 60 day non-working notice period and after that ended I started to apply for a new job. Did get a new full time permanent employee job, at a much higher rate, with similar benefits, while still collecting Wells Fargo severance pay. Thanks for all of that money, I needed it. Paid off my mortgage with Wells Fargo. Paid off all my credit cards bills. Wells Fargo contacted me recently about another internal job that I had applied for soon after the 60 day notice period ended. Offered me an interview for that only one internal Wells Fargo job I had applied for after the layoff. Many moons went by before the Wells Fargo interview request for that job occurred. Had to decline as I had this new, higher paying job already for a couple of months. Otherwise, I would have been very happy to return to Wells Fargo as a highly motivated, high contributing employee as I have always been there.

I really liked working for Wells Fargo, but always having to worry about getting laid off was very stressful and depressing as well. It was not like that at all when I first joined the company as an internal employee. Too bad how the situation changed drastically.
Meant the TRUTH be said, but I guess in my mind it was the TRUST issue. Not much TRUST I guess I was thinking.
So why would I NOT want to apply to other Wells Fargo jobs after the sad layoff?
Forced ranking performance reviews #1 reason to not want to go back to Wells Fargo. So unfair. Fear of just getting laid off again #2. The trust be said.
Like I said it was all OK ONLY because I was able to get a different, better paying, permanent job with another company where I can work 100% remotely as well.
It was not a "joke" post. Getting the 60 day non working pay + the 4 months severance pay has been very pleasant. But ONLY because I acquired another job during the severance period. I did wait until towards the end of the severance pay period to start applying for a new job. It could have been worse. My field, Information Technology, I have been totally inundated with job application requests from many various sources. I had no plan to leave Wells Fargo, but they had a different plan in mind for my technical skills, many of which were acquired through work experience at Wells Fargo. Now I use those skills at a different company.

I don’t think this individual is bragging, but more like celebrating/thanking. Nothing wrong with thinking your former employer for a nice parting gift.
Yes, it would be disappointing if the big wigs messed with the severance plan. They did it over a decade ago, as well. Neglected to announce it, and even worse, left it out of the matrix/cliff notes version they provided.
So, when you have a chance to stick it to the company, do it, because they’re doing it to you.
Don't brag about your generous severance. How soon until Schart, Snowell, and their OC cronies reduce the 2 weeks down to 1 for every year and mess with the working/non-working notice to save $$ to give themselves in stonk options.

Just for fun, you should apply for some of those WF jobs. Then, at the last possible moment decline the offers. Make the recruiters really work for their money.
