Greater Possibility = Rethink Possible = Layoffs

Apparently our purpose is here and it sounds a lot like our rethink possible line from 10 years ago.

How many roles were surplused so we could pay millions to consultants to write this new phrase that’s basically the same as before? Execs should be embarrassed and apologize for all the wrong decisions in the past decade that led us back here.

T stock price was $22 this time 10 years ago when we had 220k employees, $18 today with 203k.

I don’t think there will be any more layoffs the rest of the year because the company wants people all excited about the new purpose. Sarcasm alert: managers, put on your smiley faces the next few weeks and close the year strong.

Prepare for more of the same bs and more of the same cuts in 2023

is that 163K or 171K includes contractors or just T payroll employees?

Meanwhile our headcount in India has grown 10x.

There are presently 171,000 employees at AT&T per John Stanley’s last Town hall & 3rd quarter Meeting.

Seriously, if you've paid even the slightest attention to how most major corporations have streamlined operating costs (headcount specifically), you can see that T is not alone in trimming its workforce. Look at the stats: In 2009 Verizon had 225,000 employees -- 2022 118,000; T had 280,000 now approximately 203,000. It's definitely no fun getting caught up in a surplus, but it's not like they didn't tell us in 2015 to expect a 40% reduction.....But I think some employees think the company is novice in eliminating jobs and holding on to as much of their profits as possible. They're not. It's called capitalism.
Now as far as the 'Rethink Possible' slogan; corporations budget for advisements and 'catchy' slogans is a part of it...like Your World Delivered, Raising the Bar, What do you have to say, and my personal favorite, More For Your Thing, That's Our Thing.

Got rid of workers no longer needed. It's called running a business.

We spent a boat load of money to some C suiter's brother in law that works in marketing for that direction.

Haha, about that same time period, I remember some town hall I watched, and some VP (one of the thousands) bounded up on stage, beaming with pride, as he announced he and his team had finally settled on the "new shade of blue" after 6 months for the company logo...I almost fell out of my chair! Somebody had a team to pick the shade of blue? Similarly, there was another one I think a little earlier where some other team had decided on the new font for the logo...

"The Greater Possibility " is Stink's goal - of overflowing his bank account with T's money while creating the most toxic environment ever!
