AT&T is like Nevin from the Jerk, Stanky is AT&T’s special purpose. All joking aside, I believe that this was all a lead up to the grand announcement. It’s going to be huge. We are going to buy consumer wireless, Jitterbug phones, and all future online training will be Drag Queen training hour.
The evil HR witch santone said that 60+% of AT&T employees are burned out and when we get rid of more benefits and people, we're going to drive that number even higher. And that's what will get people out of bed each day knowing they have a special Purpose.
I have never quite understood any of these hot seats. Really wonder who’s brainchild this has been and if they were promoted for such out of the box thinking. Put it back in the box. It’s not fine baking.

Com’on people, did you expect something of substance to be said at these rah-rah sessions? If executives can’t formulate a logical and coherent strategy without duress, adding spicy food isn’t going to help any. Just another reality show with script writers.

The art of leadership is to instill confidence in your staff, teams, employees, etc.!
Currently, there is no confidence in this leader or any of the leaders under his command.
There is no direction and no game plan for the future. It's seems to be the same plan we had 3-4 years ago, fiber, and spectrum! That's necessary infrastructure just to compete.
Bottom line is, where do we go from there?
Agree this was a total waste of time. I still don’t get the new purpose thing. What was that supposed to be? I thought our purpose was to make money as a company. As an employee, my purpose is to serve customers so they don’t drop our service and hopefully refer new customers, sell more product, and help cut costs. For that I get a paycheck. That’s it.
Perfect for Gen Z. Everything is about screwing around and being unproductive. No work ethic. Then they wonder why the stock price is in the sh----r. It's because most of these people wouldn't have been able to work at a fast food restaurant when I was a teen. They would have been fired for being lazy.

I tuned in as well thinking there was going to be some kind of important announcement. Once the pre-taped speech ended, I realized it was just another installment of the HOT Seat with John, so I left the call to actually do some real work. It doesn't sound like I missed anything. I would suggest the next installment should be a Nathan's style hot dog eating contest between the execs. Can't be any worse than what happened today.

It's truly disgraceful that a company that generates $125B annually has such incompetence at the helm! How did AT&T ever come to this pathetic stature within Corporate America? It limps along and rarely if ever does it get mentioned on the investment channels and if it does, it's in a negative light! We need an outside leader to take control of this behemoth and get us moving in the right direction because it's on a collision course with a disastrous outcome!
I'm going to have to replay this town hall. I must have missed the big message that Stankey was going to deliver. I heard nothing but gibberish. How can the "leadership team" be so childish. What a waste of cash.
That town hall had all the earmarks of a leadership team without direction. How much longer will the BOD put up with this nonsense? Even though the BOD is no better. Where did the professionalism for these meeting go? I give up!
