@1sux+1jC9cT9j, everything is about Power....recently, for one of the rare times in recent history, there were more jobs than workers so the pendulum swung in favor of the workers. As is always the case, the pendulum swings back so things WILL revert to the previous status quo where the Power rests with the Company.
Schart's regime has put tools in place to ensure that pendulum never goes very far in favor of the Workers: lack of salary transparency, removal of bonus targets, RTO, Virtual Desktop, etc. All of these are really tools to ensure the Company retains all the power and gives workers just enough to perpetuate the illusion they have control over their professional lives. It all adds up to: Toe the Company Line, or buh-bye.
As the job market gets tighter, employers will start clamping down. Anybody else remember during 2008 when jobs got scarce and they started making us wear neckties...? Kind of the same thing, except this time instead of neckties it will be "get your butts back into your chairs in the office".
When times are good, management acts good. When times are bad, management acts bad.
