Just started receiving e-mails about executive retirements. Rosa Bosa is on the list, head of Voice and Collaboration. That was no surprise. T yanked the entire portfolio earlier this year. Stacy Schwartz with FirstNet is gone. That was a bit of a surprise. Peter Daly with Customer Service Advocacy and Management is gone (guess our customer service is no to notch). Also, Brian Troup with SLED. Seems like Public Sector Leadership got whacked today. Probably, that will end up consolidated under a single sn-t-nose, who cares more about ESG than actual product and service.

What a joke that Dietch, Rao and Porter are left. Those losers have driven ABS into the ground.
Rosa Bosa should have retired a decade ago
Newsflash….cutting people does not, and will not solve T’s problem. It’s a very short term fix (3-6) months. It is however the only thing the C Suite can report to board of directors as progress….
Who cares?
Do you think any of those people know your name?
Why you people care what happens 2-3-4-5 levels up is bizarre.
And pathetic.
They need to whack level 3s, level 4s, and level 5s in HR. It's been way too top heavy for years chocked full of dimwits that can't manage a 2-ho-e outhouse in an Ex-Lax factory.
Seriously, you can take any 21 year old kid managing the local hamburger jo--t on the day shift and they know more about managing people and assets than most of the managers in HR 2 to 3 times their age.
Just make sure that you have a chair when the music stops!
Santone and Stankey are ruthless, they don't care who is negatively impacted by their cuts. It's about to get brutally ugly. 40K estimated number of layoffs, possibly more.
It's just the beginning of a blood bath of headcount reductions. I'm an Associate Director….
What part of T is this in? I have heard multiple times the amount in 2023 is dependent on who leaves in 2022. I assume it takes about 60 days to process a retirement. With that assumption the execs must know now how many are leaving in 2022. The Bs about waiting to see - they know now just as you have suggested.
Only 20% to 30% will be cut? This won't make enough of a difference. A 50-60% reduction is needed.
fyi

Are you core or mobility?
It's just the beginning of a blood bath of headcount reductions. I'm an Associate Director and just got the word today from leadership that our Org. will be cutting 24% of our 1st, 2nd and 3rd level managers in Jan. 2023, not sure about Union employees, but I'm sure that is next. Meetings start tomorrow on who gets cut without regard to those leaving because of the lump sum segment interest rate hikes on pensions this Nov/Dec. We were told that AT&T will be cutting 20% to 30% (32k-40k) of it workforce next year.
What’s funny about Firstnet is the folks selling it and participating in that group actually think they are doing a bang up job. The fact is firstnet is just glorified cell service.
Most firstnet employees weren’t even old enough to remember 911.
I remember how FirstNet was pushed as the next big thing in 2017, and nobody bought the BS even then. Getting $6.5B but spend $40B to build the network to support it? How is that going to work?
At that time, Donovan was competing with Stankface for the ring.
Wall Street wanted to hear a growth story from Randall to keep the stock up. And Donovan (he the brilliant management consultant) cooked up a story and served it to Randall on a platter. By the time it failed, they would either be (1.) rich from Movie Star M&A dreams or (2.) long gone such that there was no accountability.
Spoiler alert: it was number two.
I was in the room and expressed my views. My reward was to be forced out.

Especially after the fine print came out, that No, the government is not just going to make their users switch over to T, nor hand us the list of their users just like that.. Nope, nobody will get paid unless T signs up the users themselves..
T had to go and find and convince every single user to switch over in every single village - just like any other customer. And very few came from other carriers, because other carriers had better coverage in crucial areas.
Soo.. it is now 5 years later, and despite the pretty business case formation and presentation, where IS the money now?
Whoever claims they were in the room, by all means step up and make the numbers happen..What's keeping you?
Or did this follow the same principles as the doomed T-Mo merger that only cost us $4B? Or TimeWarner?
Agree. Firstnet was a defense play because leadership thought would win. Ironically, VZ did’t even bid. $49 billion….fed is not going to let that sleep slide….to return value back to shore holders would mean an increase revenue of $70b…. When deal was announced, RS said it was earnings neutral…. Meaning waste of time and money….
If you were in the room, your eyes must have been closed.
Firstnet was such a great opportunity that VZ didn’t even bid on it. Add to that VZ still has more Frontline subscribers than Firstnet.
“You can call bs if you want, but you obviously were not in the room when Firstnet business case was being formed and presented….. I was. Go back to your truck….”
Then I guess we can all blame you for it’s dismal failure, you think just the like the C Suite..congrats !

“For T FirstNet is the growth engine for mobility”
LOL…millions of subscribers behind the commitment to the FirstNet authority and you have millions of lines being reported as. “NEW” that are merely switched from commercial T accounts, look in the mirror.
To : @bqd+1j8h1wlG & @plq+1j8h1wlG
You’re obviously (both?) a Vz or T-Mobile shill.
Executive involved in FN ..really I call bu$#**
Also FirstNet is consistently being held accountable by leadership and the FirstNet Authority.
For T FirstNet is the growth engine for mobility.
pmq+1….. what are you taking about….? Is Firstnet some how a ESG thing….?
Heaven forbid we focus investment on companies that are ethical, equitable, and not irreparably damaging the environment for our kids. I mean who needs science, fairness, and moral codes. Damn those ESG goals. Just damn them. Lets bring back pollution, bias, corruption and those other great things of the 1980s.
I’m former executive that was deeply involved with early Firstnet bid. It was clear to me that there was no path to profitability. Seriously, path to profit was dependent on ~ 30 core assumptions all going AT&T’s way. The top executives didn’t want to listen. No surprise the former President of fed was forced out 6 months after contract was signed. Under reported was Randall committed $49B to fed to support Firstnet. Stacey is good person, but she was given a train wreck to lead…
This is very encouraging, please let the cuts continue.
Thankful Stacy is gone. Time to hold Firstnet accountable. They team has had all the advantages and the results aren’t stellar.
Just the beginning.......
Not surprised by any of the cuts. I am surprised it took this long to cut them, they've been getting a free ride for about a year!
They need to get rid of the ESG garbage. Customers hate it and it just makes us worse.
About time some dead wood gets cut.
