Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Layoff numbers?

Anyone have any credible numbers or the orgs hit for those that were unfortunate to be laid off?

Thanks in advance if you have any info.

We all knew this was coming. The mass hiring activity and surplus deferment during COVID was sure to meet its end eventually and here it is. We’ll be back to business as usual, reducing headcount come Q1 2023. It also shouldn’t be a shocker about the benefits changes that have screwed us all. It had been on borrowed time for a while. You can’t just throw away billions of dollars and run a highly leveraged business and keep those perks. The unions will feel little of this. They never have and never will. They never go backwards regardless of the companies financial posture. Now is most definitely the time to be a sheitkicker.

No one on this board has “credible numbers”, the only accurate assessment is that layoffs are in full swing. Again, this isn’t new , just far more aggressive than ever before. You can’t be surprised unless you’ve been ignoring all the signs of a crumbling company. Cash flow is withering, technology updates are slowing , the highest debt of any US company and competition is pulling customers at a steady rate. I read a recent article that suggested our mobility churn is down…I laughed as I have seen for years, business sales disconnect data plans and start new ones on the same device to meet a sales metric, whatever it takes mentality. That type of thinking spells disaster for T.

Layoff numbers are like lottery winning numbers. You will not know untill the drawing is complete.

AT&T has to layoff at least 10% of its work force to be competitive and to get a stock boost.

They keep that info pretty secure and make sure not to let anyone know until the last possible minute. If only the company was as motivated to serving customer as they are to laying off employees…

Sorry, but that is considered confidential information. Santone has assured Stankey that the numbers will not to be released to anyone. They are a couple of sneakie snakes!
