How many excess employees at VZ?

Legacy Magenta wants to go from approx. 75K to 50K employees. How many employees do you think we need to compete? I say at least 75K. What do you think?

VSP 2022 being announced by Hans tomorrow at noon on up to speed.
3 weeks pay and benefits for each year service up to 60 weeks max.
Full STI for 2022. Off payroll by 12/31/22.

Supposedly we had 135K or so before the August RIF- including contractors. I am not sure how big the last RIF was but it had my name on it.

I am hearing the Fall 2022 RIF should be anywhere from 3,500 to 5,000- from several HR friends. It’s tough to calculate because of how things are reported and news comes out. The constant I hear is that leaders want Verizon to have around 120K - 125K employees all told by 2023 or so- I’ve heard that for a few years. Expect more and more contractors and employees overseas for sure.

Yes, the company keeps humming along since the 2018 departure of 13,000 employees. Stock price December 2018 ~$55, 2022 ~$41. Keep on humming.

Our last reported number was 118,000. When you look at these numbers they don't include contractors so it is a little difficult to compare apples to apples. Don't think that this flex by T -Mobile isn't going to make our C suite look at productivity though. If they can out compete us at a lower headcount why would we stay so bloated?

@1cng+1iwhgpNS Much industry knowledge walked out the door in 2018. About 13,000 people. And the company is still humming along. Just proves that everyone is dispensable. Do you really believe the company cares who leaves? Saves them the severance.

Hiring a failed CEO from Ericsson should be a great move for VZ.....allot of former Ericsson employees are laughing and saying we told you so. Hans will ride VZ all the way to a cliff. Then get a golden parachute

We need better people. You have one to two people on each team doing the majority of the work. You could lose another 20% but you better start hiring quality people because it’s all a matter of time before people leave and take all that industry knowledge with them.
