I work in mortgage processing in a specialty group. Just got an email from my supervisor for a quick mandatory Teams meeting today at 1pm. He only said in his email ‘Don’t worry, this doesn’t affect our group’- so the meeting has to be about pending mortgage layoffs that are about to be made public.
Has anyone else in mortgage received a similar email from their supervisors today?

barely any work in underwriting everyone feeling the same but no formal meeting invites/meetings yet.
I love how people are saying there isn't enough work in mortgage, but then other people complain about layoffs.

That or they are moving more people to low end verification jobs. They have been doing it with other groups and forcing them to learn a whole new job in verifications if they wish to remain employed.
I wish I was on the chopping block. Why didn’t I take the red pill and go to mortgage???

My friend is in REVs but she hasn't heard a word. She says not enough work to go around and they're basically working half days. Expecting the heavy handshake any day, if not the next rate hike will likely be the last straw!
