Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Quiet firing for over a year…

You know you are quietly being fired when you frequently get moved to new supervisors, been with the CO for many years and seldom get any work… Figured they are waiting me out as it’s cost effective than many months of paid severance? Here’s the real kicker, I was a star employee with constant non-sales productivity awards… Go figure…

That is exactly what happened to my 3 person dept in 2021. Moved to four different supervisors in a calendar year, work dried up, special assignments given for a month and then job eliminated. I had been with the back for 42 years! Enjoying retirement.

Actually, not wanting to go through another rigorous interview process and a lower paying position, I’ll do what I normally do and just wait out management. It is somewhat sad to spend decades building up a good reputation only to have those who know you leave the bank. Hence, new management has no idea who you are. Lol.

Find another job and do both at the same time.

I seldom get any work too, it was to make sure H1B from China to be the star employees. We were already majority China owned.

It's a weird time to be employed at Wells.

Just continue to quietly do your job so they can’t fire you for non- performance while you plan your next move. If you are on the younger side use the time to look for the right new job. You have a job, so you don’t have to take the first offer out of desperation. Use that to your advantage.

If you are close to retirement just wait them out. I have seen people collect paychecks for literally years while being completely ignored. Don’t take it personally. It’s a reflection in management, not you.

They are hoping you leave on your own so they don’t have to pay severance.
