Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Management Team

I find it hard to understand why this management team is in place still. I have never been talked to so rudely by executives. They love using scare tactics and love the "f" word and use it in their rants to their staff. Can't tell you how many times I have heard that word in meetings and also that "heads will roll" and "if this isn't resolved, someone won't be here tomorrow". Amazing how much stress the entire workforce is under because of a few.

What the board needs to do is look at the executive level, from the top on down, and apply the same efficiency model to these individuals. Just look at the top 3 levels. Could save millions of dollars and see no impact on the business. Time to get rid of the good ol boys club, get out of politics and feel good things, and get back to be what we are supposed to be a BANK!

Are you so stupid that you don't know the Board has almost completely turned over and consists of Chuckles' supporters? Pull your head out.

Have you ever heard the saying - "The beatings will continue until morale improves"......welcome to the transformed Wells Fargo. We used to have a "feels like family" culture. Charlie hates teams - Charlie hates families......

I haven't heard the F dropped since I have been employed by Wells.

I left WF for A LOT more money, still in financial services and the management style is a 180 from the abuse WF dishes out. I was super quiet in meetings when I got to my new gig and my boss called me in to ask if I was doing ok!

I explained how management would SNAP in meetings if you weren’t lock step with them so I was waiting to learn the “way” they do things to contribute. He literally gasped. Gave me a pep talk about how he hired me because he knows I cam help them and he wants to hear from me - even if we’re not in agreement.

What a concept. The team I’m on now has pushed more code and updates in a few weeks than I did in months at WF and I don’t have to work 14 hours a day to do it.

@htl+1ipJq62z, I agree. I have heard this type of talk/language at every large corporation that I have worked for. It's not just Wells Fargo.
Gee. Maybe some of you have been working here way too long, and it's time to branch out?

Yes, when it comes to pay, many of my managers have ego of kings.

Then when it comes to work and job security, they cannot stand hiring American who are older and competent.

No, they have to hire and sponsor H1B workers from China who only recently gone through American master program no more than 24 months.

You’ve described almost any company that pays big bonuses and pays well.

They pay the big bucks but it comes with expectations and pressure. Some people thrive on it and some don’t. That’s ok

Management still in place because Charlie cleared out most of upper management and replaced with all of his yes-men. Even managed to replace the chair of the board with one of his own. There’s essentially nobody internal who has any authority to hold him accountable.

@btz+1ipJq62z no you mean its a cultural difference between abuse and professionalism and what you are pretending is that SF is more refined than NY lol

@btz+1ipJq62z What a bullsh-t response. I’m from NYC and the kind of behavior described by the OP, and witnessed first hand, is from bullies. Not professionals, not people who know what they’re doing but bullies. That kind of “motivation” ruins all credibility and gets close to no one on your side.

HOW you get things done is just as important as WHAT you get done and, as anyone can see looking around here, they haven’t been very effective to date so stop with the rationalization.

Awwe...did you get yelled at? If you haven't noticed the touchy feely attitude we had before never got rid of anyone and nothing ever got done.

These guys are trying to make changes and sometimes you need to crack some skulls. It's the cultural difference of San Francisco vs New York
