Mid-Year Raise?

Has anyone here ever gotten a raise during the year (aka non-annual raise) while staying in their same position? What were the circumstances or what happened?

I got promoted within the same role at the beginning of the year last year, then a mid-cycle pay bump of just under 18% in the Fall. Why? Because I get sh-t done!

Yes, but it isn’t the norm.

Yes, just under 24%. It took my manager showing HR that we were way underpaid and at risk of losing staff in a critical position. The job description did not mat h the functions we had taken on over time.
This was obviously pre Scharf.

Small raise to stop people from leaving? So after the constant removal and reduction of benefits over the past three years, top talent leaving, and forcing DEI and RTO, the dead weight gets raises. Good job.

Yes, this year. I got an 8% raise.

On a team with many open positions and struggling to retain talent, so a small handful of people for mid year retention raises.

Yes, I had achieved some significant goals for the team, that many thought were unattainable. My 2 and 3 up leaders made the recommendation.

You have to literally get an offer in hand if you want them to match it for an off cycle raise.
