Your Empower 401(k) positive? How?

Anyone’s Empower 401(k) in positive territory over the past 12 months? If so, please share your strategy. I only saw one product offering in positive territory.

I can barely remember a good administration. Let’s recap:
God only knows who’s in charge of this current administration.
The previous administration couldn’t stay off Twitter.
The administration before that was completely racist. I.e. Beergate…
Administration before that was messing with the interns.
The administration before that was hanging onto his daddy’s coattails.

Needless to say, they all have one thing in common. To (try) keep us poor.

@gxa+1iY4PvPP Oh STFU. Inflation is an issue globally, not the just the US. Pretty much every economy has had issues with many of the same things the US has.

And please, our last admin dramatically increased the debt even while had a decent economy (that is before totally screwing the pooch on the pandemic).

Some new or you her folks have never really been through a downturn. Not every year is going to be positive. There will be ups and downs with a long term view of being substantially up if you just stay the course.

If you want a good 401k - don't vote in people that dramatically increase debt, destroy energy production (the fuel of our economy), increase taxes, restrict ALL small business development, increase welfare/"social" programs, do not promote safety, do not defend our border. Freedom, Small government, Safety.

Agreed. I’ve been in the stable value fund ever since we moved to Empower. I’m guessing the market already priced in the lows ahead of the future interest rate increases. Will take another look at the 401(k) product offerings to see which large, small, and NASDAQ products are the most beaten down. Gotta love market timing.

I'm down over $250k since Q1 of this year. The market has just sh*t the bed. Hey, look at the upside, when they match in december you'll get more shares b/c the market will likely slide a bit more.

Stable value the only way. Had it in there since Trump started playing with Wall Street toward the end of his era.

How corporations are playing with it to stop employees from having the power in a market where employers are crying for employees.

Maybe they should have thought of that before deflating wages and offshoring jobs. But that would take forethought when American business is run on the next quarter stock price.

Take it from someone who loaded up on stocks during the 2007-08 financial crisis. Nobody except people fully vested in the Stable Value fund are in positive territory. NOBODY. Unless you are retiring in a couple of years, your best move is to buy Large Cap, Small Cap and get in on the NASDAQ while they are all in down territory. I even moved money from the Stable Value to these funds (in the thousands) because you are at record lows right now. Do the same with your 401K deductions... buy stock while its low. In about a year or 18 months, you'll love your positive balances.

100% Pelosi ETF. She's fully invested, so you must buy an EV by 2030.
