Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo or Chase (Financial Analyst, Risk)

Let's say you are a recent college graduate with a Finanance degree from a solid regional college - you've been offered jobs from Wells Fargo and Chase. The position is a Financial Analyst in the Risk group.

Let's say Wells Fargo Pays about 5% more, the benefits are the same - the commute to Wells Fargo is about 10 minutes less (both jobs require the employee to be on-site).

Who would you choose and why?

Take the money, shorter commute and getting the experience. Use it as a steppingstone to move on.

Neither—-they’re both on site. I would keep looking.

If we keep the options to chase and wells then the answer is wells. closer and more money. bo-m. done.

you are a recent grad, you have your whole life to figure out where you belong. for now, take the money to help pay down debt and less drive time. double win!

Wells Fargo hires the scrub executives from Chase who can't move up the ladder there.

That is all you need to know.

Why would you go to either!? Financial analyst roles are in every large US corporation. Go to an industry that isn’t as loathed as banking.

Bonus component depends on your group, I know WF is below in MMB. The ungodly amount of attrition speaks for itself, and new hires are at a level to justify the salary, not experience or connections in the market and that causes more attrition.

wells isn't as woke yet so there's that but we are getting there slowly. chase will stalk your every click and make you take the climate change vaccine once they roll that out in a few years. they know their 'diverse' staff will do as they're told.

WF doesn't pay a sh..t. Last year everyone have got meet expectation because it was told so even if worked really hard shorthanded. So I think there is no difference now. But also WF moves all their work to outsource in India.

Wells pays noticably higher annual bonuses than the other big dinosaur banks. As in 5 digits vs 4 digits.

That alone would make me want the Wells job if those were my only two choices.

Any big dinosaur bank will be wrought with internal problems. There's no escaping that. So for me it would come down to money and commute because those two things affect me everyday.

They both break the law a lot so there will be lots of opportunity for risk employees. Wells is going through some odd changes right now, JPM seems to have a brighter future
