A senior software engineer position out of the Minneapolis office was eliminated today 9/22
I received a severance package in after 38 years at WF. Was sad, and of course they said age didn’t play a part in it. Yet in my paperwork I was compared to a 36 year old and 38 year old. . I have enjoyed life since April. This is not the same WF that many of us worked at for years. WF will never be the industry leader it once was. I would suggest looking at smaller companies who truly value their employees as WF certainly does not!
Two crucial software engineer positions eliminated from a Minneapolis team that was already shot on resources.
does anyone have any updates ? I know it's early..
Why would anybody notify wells if you got a new job in the 60 day period or even during your severance? I guess getting the lump sum wouldn't be so bad, but no way would I lose out on many months of severance.
With the bull puckey I'm dealing with I'm getting to the point where it might just be worth taking a package and moving on.
People need to stop downvoting this guy. He's trying to save people's severance with the truth. If you go work somewhere else during your notice period you will lose your severance. Enjoy the time off, start your search, and be honest with anyone that makes you an offer. By the time you get to that point you'll probably be close to the end of the notification period anyway. If they won't wait for you to start until after that magic date, you don't want to work there anyway.
I agree. But you better not have a Wells Fargo deposit account for the pay checks from the new employer, or they can try to claw back that severance.
I won't bank with Wells Fargo. I do not want my employer to have access to any of my financial records.
IF you get laid off and find another job, just keep quiet about it. Take all the severance and continuation pay and F WFC 🖕🏽😜✌️
If you find a new external job and start within that 60 day period between being told you are getting laid off and actually getting laid off, you are supposed to notify Wells Fargo. You will then not receive severance as you have voluntarily resigned.
For those 60 days you are still a Wells Fargo employee with salary and full benefits.
Do you not get the severance if you take an external job? I heard internal you would not get the severance but are they really going to track down every person who was let go and see when they were hired externally?
I don't know why this is so hard for you to understand.
When you get laid off, you are given 60 days notice. Those 60 days, you are still an employee of Wells Fargo. After those 60 days are up, you are laid off. That is why if you find another job in those 60 days, you do not get the lump sum severance as it is considered voluntary resignation.
The people who were told they were being laid off in July and August are still technically Wells Fargo employees and will be for a little bit longer. They are the same people the Des Moines Register was reporting on.
Anyone told they are getting laid off on 9/22 or 9/29 will still be Wells Fargo employees for 60 days until their official lay off date in November.
It's not just WF. Rates are near or above 7% currently. EVERY bank and Mortgage Company is having massive Layoffs.
Per Des Moines Register on 9/1/22: Another additional 75 will be laid off between 9/28 and 10/25 bringing total in Des Moines area to 396 since April. These ARE NOT the July layoff people. I know in my mortgage area, we have 1/10th the work we used to have and we haven't seen any layoffs yet... I know they're coming.
Best of luck everyone, whether you're hoping for a layoff or you don't want to leave.

You had me at juicy then you went salacious. aro--ed…keep going. Lol
Layoffs?
Fools!
Layoffs are the least interesting topic on this board.
Tell me something juicy. Salacious.
Layoffs are just the loss leader to get people posting about what they're really thinking.
Marketing is hiring.
Yep, 100 percent. Have been posting on this board for 2-3 weeks now about this. The 22nd and 29th. That’s it for the year as far as I’ve heard.
Those layoffs already happened. WF is giving 60 days notice and sending you packing, so the formal layoff doesn't happen until two months later. Your numbers are from July layoffs.
Job cuts this month will reflect in November layoff numbers.
Des Moines unemployment says 75 people there will be laid off between 9/28 and 10/25. I place my bet on 9/29 layoffs around the country.
If you know so much. What departments will be affected 9/22
The Chuckie doll got me a year ago.
One two Chucky's coming for you, three four, better lock your door.
Agree with OP, both this Thursday and next Thursday 29th, after they moved all the Oct / Nov layoffs up to this month to tie down the budget.
Please tell…
Yaaaassssss bring on the freedom coupled with severance pay and unemployment coin $$$
If you have more details, please share. Thanks.
