I understand wanting their viewpoints on the economy, but what is the point of "grilling" BANK CEOs to talk about "hot button issues". What does that have to do with running their businesses. Are they also going to cart Martha Stewart and Oprah in to opine about Russian and Chinese diplomatic relations?
"Look at us, we're holding these rich and powerful white men accountable for the next couple hours."
Basically they want to inject politics into private businesses.
It is just entertainment for the masses.
When's the last time someone was brought before Congress, and something happened because of it?
"Speaking before Congress" is strictly a political maneuver to fool voters into thinking that political justice is on the horizon, except that it literally never is.
