Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

This is how you reduce expenses.... You Squeeze...

Reducing expenses? It's pretty easy:

  1. Review T&E
  2. Review corp lease/building portfolio
  3. Reduce headcount
  1. is easy. very easy actually. banks are notorious for nonsense T&E
  1. is not so easy when the bank is trying to force everyone back to work in an effort to get them to quit. If you start slimming down on real estate that contradicts your efforts to get people to return to the office
  1. not so easy.. if you start doing mass layoffs you are going to get a call from the fed. So what do you do? you squeeze so people leave on their own. You do small targeted cutting, you change everyone's job titles, you change the comp structure, the bonus structure...

Squeeze out every last drop.... People will leave on their own...

Doesn’t sound quite right to me. If you make working conditions so miserable in hopes people leave then you might just be Losing some of your top performers. Unless the squeeze is happening to the lower performing in the company. If the squeeze is happening, then someone is setting this bank up to be sold off or merged with another corporation. Let’s face it. A scandal with this bank surfaces every month.
No way in he-l would I let my family and friends back here. I don’t need that type of responsibility.

Yeah, that is the biggest load of b.s. ever. But honestly he has no choice. he has his game that he is playing too so he can collect his comp. I dont blame him.

if I were in his shoes making that kind of money I would be doing the same thing.
