Not praying for a layoff, but I'm getting to the point where if it happens I'll probably be ok with it.

I’m a big believer in capitalism. Yes, I’m an opportunist. I’m taking the opportunity to wait out lethargic management in hopes of getting my golden severance.Additionally, enjoying my nice fat salary.While quietly being fired, I’m prepping for my side hustle. Working for WF is kind of like a game of chess.While the company keeps pushing out unrefined computer fixes, I keep opening up trouble tickets. Merry go round keeps going round and round. We live in a capitalist, opportunistic, society. If you WAIT, you then get what you is given to you, or put less friendly, what you deserve. Leave mommy and daddy's grasp and go out and find what you really want. If you just want to lay around, then you deserve to be layed off. You should always be producing at least slightly above the requirements. Give opportunity a try, you might find that you have special skills and tolerances others do not have.
Yeah, I finally got laid off and I am using the 60 day notice to decompress. From not getting raises, promotions and getting the work as if I was promoted. All my peers are jealous. I know there are plenty of jobs out there, so I am OK with it.
I really wish WF would look at the middle managers they have that really don't do much other then reorg their teams once a year. Seems like all the problems keep coming back to bite the bank, but the middle managers are never blamed. It is always the workers that get blamed, not the leadership.
The only people praying to be layed off are ones who don't have a mortgage, and many who don't pay rent.

Some of us have significant time in the game here so yeah, it makes sense especially if you are near retirement. Severence is a benefit that is earned so why not accept it and use it to decompress, and clear the mind of this shitshow and energize for your net adventure?
If miserable, don't wait for a package. Life is too short. You cannot regain this time. Go to a competitor.
Why can't Wells Fargo have a voluntary just like so many other companies. Our management is so stupid, toxic and greedy.
