Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Layoffs set for Oct/Nov have been moved up to this month.

I'm in Tech. The Layoffs planned for Oct/Nov have been moved up to this month. So its either the 22nd or 29th for a large displacement. They are trying to tie up the 2023 budget and lock it down by end of this month. We'll see.

I am in tech and heard sources closed to mgmt that sep 22 is real. I am hoping for a package so I can get out of this joke and start fresh.

I’m involved in the process of determining who stays and who gets let go. We are definitely having layoffs on the 22nd and 29th.

@4npg funny, I'm in CLT as well, and my team is beyond buried. This should be interesting

@4ojg. Well, I got it too. We are short now with too many projects. If they were to lay me off, they would be in a world of hurt.

In the other hand, they laid off a bunch in CLT that they found out after the fact they should have kept when their projects crashed and burned, so who knows what id--t decisions they will continue to make to save a buck?

Any chance layoffs are happening this week? The reason I ask is because when I logged into workday, I received a pop-up "important information regarding access for your departing employee"

But I don't have any direct reports, so does that mean I'm on the list? Or was this just a workday goof?

There are plenty of people, including yours truly, who know when layoffs are going to happen. Who do you think pulls access to systems, email, etc. the night before? Layoffs are happening this month, 100 percent.

This is pure speculation on my end but with mortgage rates rising and business volumes lowering, I can forsee WF Mortgage and their technology groups being impacted.

Tech control is an easy place to start the layoff process . Lots of directors and senior directors abound who can be removed with no business consequence whatsoever .

A bunch of BS. No one, I mean one knows when they layoff, especially someone posting on this board. Once again, layoffs have not stopped, been put on hold, etc. Numbers drop every week/month.

The leadership is a failure. They can't even make RTO work. Our leadership gets paid tens of millions of dollars each. Their bright idea of making work conditions worse during a surge of open positions didn't work out as intended? The dead weight aren't the people getting external jobs when competing with our good people.

Might be true. Lots of discussion around capacity planning and the 2023 budget - all in the new Agile transformation framework.

The ethical thing for WF to do would be to ask people to volunteer for severance. There are a lot of people here who NEED their jobs - those are the people who should have the opportunity to stay.

From what I can see, they could trim staff by quite a bit.

I did hear that they "met their numbers" regarding headcount, but at the end of the day it wasn't the "right" people that left, and a lot of the "wrong" people stayed. I don't know how that will play into a future layoff, but I think they'd make different decisions today if they could go back and do it again. The only thing they were looking at was total numbers.

Hooray! I hope I’m one of the lucky ones. Been waiting for my golden severance for a long time now.
